“ Was here at 2:19 Saturday with a friend and thanks to the board we were able to find our exact order. The worker Miguel was able to effortlessly help us and check the balance on the gift card. He also helped us further navigate the order. After we sat down in the chairs outside with a nice environment. The food was also elegant per usual. ”
“ I have dietary restrictions and I was able to get exactly what I wanted and needed in the make your own burrito bowl. I'll definitely go back. ”
“ The food was amazing . It came so fast. It always does. You have to go. I guarantee you will agree. . ”
“ The food is great, especially the burritos. The service is swift and high quality and Taco Mama in general is a very relaxed and welcoming place to eat. ”
“ Definitely the best addition to the Vestavia City Center from these last few years. This Taco Mama is so close to us, has such a cute atmosphere with the outdoor sitting area, and is always delivering the best quality food! I'm a sucker for any kind of rice bowl and Taco Mama hits the spot each time. This location never skimps on the portions or sides which is for sure a plus. I usually get tofu since it's cheaper than the shrimp, but the shrimp is by far superior!! Always cooked and seasoned perfectly. Service is extremely fast and the workers are very tentative in all they do:) ”
“ My husband and I stopped by here after an ultrasound appointment for a quick lunch. I've been to two other Taco Mama locations, but this was my first time at this one. It was easy to find a close parking spot. We were able to order right away. My husband ordered a burrito and I ordered a burrito bowl. Our food was brought out quickly and everything tasted fresh. A worker came by twice to ask if we needed anything, which was nice. There's nothing I can mark them down. The restaurant was clean and not too busy. The food was good. Parking was easy. I'd eat here again. ”
“ Our food came out super fast and super fresh. You pay for your order at the counter and get your fountain drinks at the back of the restaurant. My friend got a bottle of Jarrito. They have a wide selection of them. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Nice kind servers who throw away your trays for you. Prices are reasonable. I like that you can make your own bowls. My sister and I are doing low carb to get our blood sugars under control and this place accommodates. 2 steak bowls plus a drink was about $28. Love the shared courtyard outside. Lots of families were enjoying the sunshine today and it was a nice environment. Kids have fun on the big red spinning top chairs. Outdoor seating is a must for me as I'm still super skittish about eating indoors when it's crowded. I hope Vestavia City Center in general gets more good places to eat. Right now they have Zoe's, First Watch, Samurai, Taco Mama's, Panera, Crumbl, Starbucks and I see the salad place Chopt is popping up soon. They have a parking deck, but I was able to find parking on the lot. ”
“ JUST ANOTHER JUAN OF THOSE DAYS! Before I moved to Birmingham, I had asked one of my close friends from high school about places to eat, shop, explore (she went to UA in Tuscalusa). One of the high places on her list was Taco Mama. She said it is a MUST! Taco mama has been on my list for I can't tell you how long. We have passed the one up at the Summit too many times to count, but at the end of shopping and sweating in the heat all day, the last thing on our mind is sitting outside in the heat and eating hot food. Tonight we were trying to get crumbl cookies delivered to us, but they had so many orders it was going to be nearly impossible for that to happen. Courtney and I both looked at each other and said "let's go on another adventure". We took a lyft up to Vestavia and first came to taco mama for dinner. Coming inside, it has very nice vibes. The menu is written on a chalk board above the register. But it can be kind of hard to see at times so they also have paper menus too. I decided on the Sizzler tacos and Courtney got the fat boy burrito. I also ordered a watermelon sugar margarita. (and no I did not get a pitcher, just one is fine by me). The tacos were good. They had steak, blue cheese crumbles, avocado and lettuce on it. I got a side of quesso too. That winded up to be better than I expected. I drizzled the quesso on top of both of my tacos and it honestly enhanced the flavors and added an extra kick that they typical taco would not have had. Courtney said that his burrito was ok. Just ok. Nothing spectacular. He said that the beans inside of the burrito were bland, they didn't have any flavor to them. The burrito did not have enough meat in i, but there were way too many beans. (This is why I cannot award the five star rating). All in all, I was super happy that my high school friend told me to come here. It was one of her favorite spots and it is definitely going to be very high on my list of favorite Mexican restaurants in Birmingham. Every time she comes back to Birmingham she comes here for some good food and good drinks with friends. I can definitely see why. I am happy to say that because of my check in here, I received my Mexi-Can badge. So thank you Yelp! ”
“ I have been a fan of the Homewood, Summit, and Providence (Huntsville) locations for many years. Adding a Taco Mama to the Vestavia City Center is exactly what that area needed. With Zoe's and Panera also in this area, the outside seating area is always packed and is a great place for friends/groups to meet for dinner and enjoy a few margaritas. I'm hoping that that whole area can become a restaurant district. Some things I love about Taco Mama are the margaritas, the build your own burrito, the Mexican mac and cheese, the atmosphere, and the prices. They have several different types of frozen and regular margaritas. My favorite is the frozen pomegranate!! They also have a skinny margarita as well as a jalapeno, a cucumber, a blood orange, and a watermelon margarita. On my burrito, I like their cilantro-lime rice, black beans, grilled onions, guacamole, and queso. If you prefer something else, you can also build your own tacos, burrito bowl, quesadilla, or nachos. The atmosphere of Taco Mama is fun and festive. They have an open-air concept with roll-down doors and pretty lights. It puts you in a great mood just being there. ”
